Where John Travolta kissed Olivia Newton-John in legendary musical Grease (1978) – best filming locations in Los Angeles revealed, part 2 of 7
It was a sunny April afternoon as I was sitting on the top of Loews Hotel Hollywood, drinking refreshing lemon water, watching busy Hollywood Boulevard and discussing best beaches in California with a friend from L.A.
She recommended me to visit Leo Carrillo State Park with a beautiful beach known for legendary movie scenes.
Movies filmed at Leo Carrillo are:
- Furious 7
- The Karate Kid
- Journey to the Center of the Earth
- Crossroads (the Britney Spears movie)
- and many more.
Tempted by the story, soon I found myself on Pacific Coast Highway on the way to Santa Barbara. After about 45 km from Santa Monica I found myself at Leo Carrillo Beach.
It was a very bright day: blue sky, sandy beach, turquoise sea with big waves smashing into rocks, just like in a movie.
Except us, there were no people at the beach, and the scenery was outstanding.
Here is a small video of the atmosphere.
Here is another clip from the opening of the movie Grease where Danny Zuko (John Travolta) and Sandy Olsson (Olivia Newton-John) hang out on the beach.
Which are your favourite Hollywood movie scenes?
